Our research team, led by Dr. Asia Eaton, is made up of passionate, graduate psychology researchers who seek knowledge to increase the wellbeing of social media users. We are particularly dedicated to research in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), to ensure our findings and recommendations are beneficial to all races, ethnicities, and genders. We look forward to meeting you and listening to your experience with online private Facebook groups.
All researchers have obtained their CITI certification and undergone intensive trauma-informed interview training, ensuring our dedication to best practices in regards to the privacy and welfare of our participants.

1. Participating in this interview might expose you to new privacy tools that you weren’t familiar with, allowing you to consider new ways to protect the privacy of your Facebook group members.
2. Your responses will be used to improve the privacy controls available to group administrators

Frequently Asked Questions
Who will I be meeting with?
You will be speaking to the member of our research team, specifically, the team member that posted the study advertisement in your Facebook group. In order to ensure you feel comfortable during the interview, we make sure that your interviewer shares the identity with you and is an authentic member of your group. For example, if you’re the administrator of the “Golden Retriever Owner” Group, then we will make sure that your interviewer owns a golden retriever.
Where will the interview be conducted?
All interviews will be conducted over zoom. In order to ensure your comfortability, you do not need to have your video on. However, we will need to be able to record your responses through audio. Despite the audio recordings, we guarantee that your interview will remain confidential.
Once the interview is scheduled, we will provide you with a zoom link that you join at the time of the scheduled interview.
How long will the interview take?
The interview will take about an hour of your time.
