Developmental Psychology Ph.D. student Yanet Ruvalcaba receives the 2018 Student Scholar Latina Award from APA Division 35 at the annual APA Conference in San Francisco, CA.

2018 Outstanding Student Awards at FIU

Developmental Psychology Ph.D. student Jessica Saunders is recognized as a finalist for the Outstanding Graduate Scholar Award at FIU.

2018 GSAW Awards Ceremony

Ph.D. student Yanet Ruvalcaba wins a first place award for her oral presentation “Nonconsensual porn (aka “revenge porn”) among U.S. adults: Victimization, perpetration, and health correlates” at the 2018 GSAW Scholarly Forum.

2017 Lavender Graduation Awards

Ph.D. student Renzo Javier Barrantes accepting the LGBTQA Researcher of the Year Award from the 2017 Lavender Graduation and Recognition dinner, organized as part of the the LGBTQA Initiative in FIU’s Multicultural Programs & Services department.

Ph.D. student Jessica Saunders accepts a second place award for her oral presentation “The role of social media usage in the sociocultural model of disordered eating” at the 2017 GSAW Scholarly Forum.

2016 Janet Hyde graduate student research grant

Jessica Faye Saunders, a 4th year Ph.D. student in developmental science working in the PWR Lab accepts the Society for the Psychology of Women (APA Div. 35) Janet Hyde graduate student research grant (with Janet Hyde!). This $500 award will go towards funding Jessica’s dissertation “Individual differences in women’s eating disorder recovery trajectories: The role of social-cognitive factors.” The Hyde Award is among the most coveted awards in the area of gender and psychology for graduate students.
